I just wanted to thank you guys, especially Juan Rivera, an excellent technician, who repaired my brakes on my Toyota Tacoma. Juan did a great job and my thanks to Rick Richuber for his customer service. They should be commended. I drove around with no brakes practically and happened upon B&B. I'd noticed the location for years, but never had stopped in because it always seemed so busy. Now I know why, and to top that off I was in and out within an hour. I had started to just stop in at a "Brake Shop", but I wasn't so sure about those "specialty shops", I'd never had much luck with those places. I wanted a Automotive Center that I could trust and build a rapport with. I will certainly be back when I need my truck serviced and I will definitley recommend B&B to my friends for all of their automotive repairs.

Awesome! 
After a nightmare auto shop experience, visiting B&B to get my truck up to inspections standards was a truly wonderful car repair experience. Thank goodness I found B&B through the better business bureau, where B&B is A+ rated with only 1 complaint in the last 3 years! I had a fabulous experience. They did all the work I needed faster, cheaper and in better quality than anyone else I visited about the problems I had with my truck. I had a wonderful first experience with B&B and can only hope that it continues WHEN I go back.

Caring Customer Service
The people at B & B Muffler not only do a great job with your auto repairs - they also provide excellent customer service. In an effort to save me money, B & B ordered a used part that ended up making the whole job cost less than half of the original estimate. This is a place where people really go the extra mile to take care of you. I would definitely take my car back to them again.

Just wanted to not an experience I had recently. I had a dual exhaust system installed on my Dodge 1500 a couple years ago. Last week I was rear ended by a mid 80’s F-150 and was worried of course, but looked at the damage to find that all my truck suffered was dirt rubbed off my pipes, but no damage to the pipes, bumper or anything at all. His front bumper was effectively destroyed and hanging off his truck after only hitting my pipes. So your welding job was enough to take an impact with no adverse effects. Thanks for the great work and I’ve been referring any of my friends and co-workers to your service.

Nice local outfit

I was referred by someone I know which should count for something as well. I went in for an AC check late in the day, almost 4 o'clock. They sped it through and even offered to give me a lift if I needed it which was nice.
I ended up spending more than I had counted on based on the mechanics appraisal that this was preventative maintenance but put my woes to rest when he explained the worst case scenarios if I didn't. This is south Texas so I wasn't keen on gambling with my A.C, ultimately I paid about $450 when I hoped for a $250 bill but that also came within a YEAR to verify no coolant leaked they would waive the $90 dollar dye check. So... I guess I feel like the service is good, and definitely a better experience than I've had with another garage on South Lamar.

I went to B & B after my regular mechanic "lost" my catalytic converter. B & B replaced, gave me a new muffler and a state inspection (they called me to let me know it was out of date). They were so nice and honest. I didn't think mechanics like them still existed.

Motor Mount and Transmission Check

I am amazed at how honest these people have been to me! I brought my 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT in because it was making some clicking/bumping noises on the right front side. Also, I was having trouble getting the car into second from first.
I was told the noise was due to a broken motor mount. They could find nothing wrong with the transmission or clutch. I would have believed (and was prepared) that my transmission or CV joints were bad. I kept giving them the opportunity to take advantage of me, by insisting something had to be wrong due to the shifting issue. But, they were honest and full of integrity the whole time I was their customer.
They even offered people loaner cars or rides to and from their shop.
B&B, you all deserve a standing ovation and a huge pat on the back!! Good, honest people are rare these days, especially in the auto repair business. I am a customer for life.

Great, honest mechanics
These guys are great! I was driving down Lamar late on a Friday afternoon when my truck started overheating. Since it was going to take a while to get to it, they offered to give me a ride home and call me when they had some info (I chose to wait for some friends across the street at Alligator Grill...it was Happy Hour time after all). They called with updates both on the cost and estimated time it would be ready and were great about explaining everything. When it was ready, on Saturday afternoon, they picked me up at my house and even strapped the baby seat in for me. We've now taken both our cars there and they are always professional, on time, reasonably priced, and, most importantly, honest about what exactly you need (and don't try to convince you to get unnecessary extras). And...if you need spendy car repairs, you can always drown your sorrows at Alligator Grill while you wait.

The Car Repair Place I've Been Looking For...
Despite the fact that I've lived in the neighborhood for a long time I'd never previously visited B&B for any auto repairs. Over the last couple of years I'd heard that the shop was under new management, and I began to see many exterior improvements when I drove by -- fresh paint, new signs, etc. So when my truck needed it's 60K mile service I decided to give it a shot. I'm really glad that I did. Here's what went great: 1) the shop is clean and the employees are professional and courteous; 2) they gave me a loaner car to drive; 3) they found some issues that I wasn't aware of and gave me numerous options for repairs; 4) the truck's been perfect since the work was done. On top of all that I'm confident that I received a really fair price for the work and top-end parts (brakes, shocks, 60K service, etc.). This is the kind of auto repair shop you always hope to find...

Great Service!
I recently had my car alignment corrected at B&B Muffler and Automotive. They were recommended to me from Discount Tire. B&B is one of the only car shops in town that have to right tools to work on the alignment on a BMW. They provided me with great customer service and the work was done for the price quoted to me over the phone. There were no hidden costs. I will use B&B for any future car repair/maintenance that is needed on my car.

Great service and friendly staff
I recently went to get my oil changed at B&B. The staff was very friendly. I just moved to Austin and I'm usually very hesitant before going to just any mechanic. I checked out the reviews and decided to give it a shot. When I arrived there a friendly mechanic greeted me and asked what he could do for me. I told him what I needed done and in no time at all my name was being called and my car was ready. Right as I was leaving another mechanic came up to me and suggested I get my air filter changed, He told me the benefits of having a clean air filter and he did it for me in the parking lot in about 2 minutes. I'm glad to say I've found a good shop for me to take my truck to get worked on in Austin from now on.

Great auto service!
It's always hard to find a trustworthy car-fixing place, and I'm so happy I found B&B! They are friendly, give clear explanations, have accurate estimates and quick turn around times. They will also drive you where you need to go or pick you up if you have to leave your car there. I also like that they are AAA which means if you are traveling and there is some problem with a recent repair, another AAA will fix the repair for free. I highly recommend B&B!

Outstanding Service!
I own a 1989 Holiday Rambler Motorhome that had some emission problems. I had taken it to another large auto shop for 3 years trying to get it to pass emissions. I spent quite a bit of $ but the shop could never get it to pass. I had to go through the trouble of getting a low mileage waiver, but needed to find someone to fix my problem. I was told it needed catalytic converters so I decided to take it to B&B Muffler for the install of the converters. They researched my vehicle and found it did not require the converters which would have cost me big bucks (honest shop, they could have installed them). They found some air lines missing, made some adjustments to the carb, and a few other things and thank goodness the thing PASSED! They also fixed some other items and kept me informed about cost which did not change when I picked up my vehicle, not true, I had a front light out which was going to be replaced. Turns out the connection was loose, that cost came off the bill. I am elated with their service and professionalism! Thanks Guys

Get Your Inspection Done!
I had my Maxima's state inspection done at B&B muffler and automotive service center. This is my first time here. They took the work order right away and in about half an hour the inspection was done. I remember I had to wait in line for inspections at other places. They are friendly and explains details nicely. I will try with them on other issues on my car. They also offer 15% discount for both you and your referral if you refer a new customer.

Automotive services!
Recently I had my car repaired at B&B Muffler and Automotive Service Center on South Lamar and was very pleased with the quality of the work and an explanation that I could understand. I have also found that the management to be very honest. A mistake in billing was caught and corrected by the owner, a mistake which I didn't catch and in all probability would not have caught. I highly recommend B&B Muffler and Automotive Service Center to anyone in need of car repair or maintenance.

Owner Involvement!
Mike, the owner, will work with any issues resulting from work they have done. His main goal is to please his customers. He recently has taken over as the new owner and wants to strive to be a leading shop in the Austin area. I have taken four of my automobiles over the years and there have been challenges on some of the work, but Mike has come through. I recommend you speak to Mike before walking away to another shop if you have issues. Joe Stewart

Best Auto Repair!
My car was a definite problem child before I went to B&B. I was spending hundreds of dollars with other shops, and the problems weren't fixed. The mechanics at B&B accurately diagnosed the problems, explained what was happening, fixed my car & my LIFE!!! Thank you Thank you. Definitely the best place to take your cars. Very friendly and I was treated with the utmost respect. The problems with my car were explained to me in a way that I could understand and made sense, including the price quote which was accurate and fair. I highly recommend B&B Auto! They are very customer service oriented, knowledgeable, thorough and will only repair what is necessary. They are conscientious and they truly care about their customers from their service writers to their mechanics to the owner of the shop; a total team effort! In fact, Mike, the owner, seems to be always at the shop and always available to answer questions. Their follow up is very helpful too as they send emails informing me of when the next service is due and for what; this is helpful for me as I travel a fair amount for my job and am very busy. B&B Auto is where I bring all of my cars---I highly recommend this shop to my friends and colleagues! Keep up the good work!!!

I've taken my car here several times and always been happy with the service. They treated me with respect and didn't try to talk to my husband instead of me when my car was taken in. I don't ever feel like they're trumping up what needs to be done on it either. The take AAA discounts too which is sweet!
They have a drop off and pick up service too which I love since I can't always get somebody to drive me around when my car needs work.

I usually go to another place to have our car serviced, but I think I'm switching over to these guys now. I'm fickle like that.
The driveway in our apartment complex is really messed up. Try as I might, I hit the back of the car every. single. time. we leave home. It's not surprising that our muffler was jiggled so much that it broke. After doing my Yelp research (of course!) and calling around for prices, I went to these guys: they were patient on the phone when they were trying to diagnose the problem (I guess "my car is making weird sounds in the back!" is not sufficient), they were up front with the prices and they could take care of me immediately.
I got there and they had to order the part, so I just came back a couple of days later. Turns out, it was exactly what they thought and it cost me exactly what they had quoted!
Bonus: if you have to be there for a while, there's a Half Price Books across the street and a great Goodwill where I got like five things for $11. Score!

Short Review:
Mike, Earl, Richard, and the Gang. They do it right. Here's the skinny.
Long Review:
Would you like to know that your auto is being fixed? Fixed to one place doesn't mean fixed to another place. To me, if you have to keep taking it in over and over for the same issue.. that's not fixed. (I'm looking at you HI-TECH)
So skip the sketchy ones and go to B&B and see Mike. After trying out 5 or 6 different auto places around Austin (I have five cars.. woops) these guys would not give up until it was fixed.. Mike, especially, went out of his way to troubleshoot a ridiculous problem for me on .. that's right.. my BEATER truck.
I don't know anyone that would have dug in so deep on my poor old $1200 truck, but Mike did. He deemed it a 'challenge' and went to town for literally 2 weeks trying to solve the problem. He called Kentucky for a part, Wrote a guy in Minnesota.. etc etc. I told him I couldn't spend hardly any money on the fixup. and he completely understood, and BEGGED me to let him keep it because it was a challenge he hadn't seen before, and he wanted to see it through.
I mean come ON! that's awesome!

B&B Muffler did a great job replacing the exhaust on our truck. I called around to a few places before B&B was recommended to me and got the condescending "you're not sure what you need little lady why don't you bring it in" response. Earl from B&B gave me a quote over the phone and matched the price I got from another shop ($325 total for a Dual Exhaust - Flowmaster 40).
The mechanics did a fantastic job installing the muffler, welding the pipes together when it would have been quicker/easier/cheaper for them to use a clamp. They also reinforced some of the hangers (again all welded together nicely). The truck was ready by the afternoon of the day I dropped it off.
Earl then worked to accommodate me in paying for and picking up the vehicle. I was able to fax them my CC info and pick the truck up after hours.
All in all a great experience. I'd recommend them to anyone needing work done!

I recently brought my car to B&B for the first time and was so pleased with the service that a) they are my first choice for automotive needs and b) I recommend them to anyone who has a car! They are very friendly on the phone - even at 7am - and call promptly to let me know what they think the problem is and what service they recommend. They explain things thoroughly and in a way that I can understand. And, they give me options where appropriate. I once had a problem they couldn't replicate, and they spent a lot of time talking to me about it and tried a lot of different things. Finally, they asked me if I would wait while the owner took a look. I could tell they just hated to send me away without fixing my problem. I waited for about 1/2 hour in a very clean and pleasant waiting room and read the paper while the owner looked at my car. He made his best guess of what the problem was and with just some minor labor charges, I left there and have not had the same problem again (it's been 5 months). It is a pleasure to do business with B&B, and I highly recommend them to others!

Nothing was wrong with my 04 Tahoe other than the fact that it was too quiet! So i called them up and got a price quoted for an exhaust and once i got there I was helped very quickly and they explained everything very well to me. I was told it was going to take about two hours or so when it only took just over one hour! Needless to say im very pleased with the end result, the time it took to do my exahust and the customer service.

When our car started overheating, I made the mistake of taking our PT Cruiser to a "bargain" repair center. I thought I'd like B&B, but they looked really busy (often the really good businesses are), and I thought it would be a simple fix. After a bad experience with the other shop (that kind of dabbles in repair), I went to B&B. Unlike the shop that failed to fix the problem, B&B doesn't have really inexpensive labor rates (except in comparison with dealer shops), and they might take a bit longer than the estimated time to finish, BUT the repairs are very thoroughly explained; the shop is clean, certifications as a AAA shop, BBB membership, and mechanic training are numerous. They are professional. Don't get burned with somebody else's "bargain" rates. The sweetness of a "bargain" rate is often destroyed by the bitterness of a job poorly done. Good, honest, professional auto repair can be hard to find, and the other kind can burn you badly. If you don't have a good mechanic or auto repair shop, give 'em a try. I really like them
